While offering this compassionate gift to the inhabitants of Bangangte, Ségolène Royal said the most important thing is to have security when giving birth. It is more dramatic when there is no electricity and see a baby dies, or when a woman dies when putting to birth and it is also unjust not to have a refrigerator to preserve medications.

Thus it is for this reason that the former French Minister of environment and Finance is sponsoring this important project through “Desir d’avenir pour la planète” a non- governmental organization doped (D.A).

The nongovernmental organization “Desir d’avenir pour la planète” has as objective in sponsoring projects related to energy while at the same time protecting the environment. To this Ségolène Royal pumped in the sum of 700 million to electrify maternities in over 10 councils headed by women.

According to Celestine Ketcha Courtès, Mayor of Bangangté who doubles as the president of Réseau des Femmes elué locales d’Afrique, maires du Cameroun (Rafela Cam) affirmed that the financing of this 700 million project was obtained through “sécurité des femmes et filles par l’equipément en energie durable” The mayor of Bangangté added that this project was demanded by female Mayors of Cameroon and thanks to the open will of “Desir d’avenir pour la planète” the project was accorded.

It is not the first of its kind that Ségolène Royal is financing a project of this magnitude as the first project sponsored by “Desir d’avenir pour la planète” (D.A)  stands at 721, 552, 700 F CFA to install ecological electric power piloted by Baganté and Fokoué. Later in the project was extended to other councils like; Afanloum, Anjona, Mbengwi, Mintom, and Mayo-Oulo. This is the second financing obtained by Rafela Cam under the program “Women in Renewable Energy”.

The former French Minister of environment and Finance and current president of “Desir d’avenir pour la planète” Ségolène Royal promised to speed the works of the new project before the end of this year.
