New Generals for Tougher army

Saturday July 2017, 11 newly appointed Generals received their attributes through the hands of the Minister of Defence Joseph Beti Assomo. Louba Zal Pierre , Essoh Jules Cesar, Housseini Djibo, Ekongwese Nnoko Divine, Toungue Elias, Bitote Andre Patrice, Melingui Nouma Donatien, Nouma Joseph, Assoualai Blama, Agha Robinson, Eba Eba Bede Benoit are the fresh blood pumped into the defence system of Cameroon to accompany the ongoing modernisation of the Cameroonian army.

The country is facing growing threats from the terrorist Boko Haram and as leader of the subregion Cameroon is giving a hand to its neighbours who are in crisis. Thus far the army has been doing a fabulous job to contain the Islamic sect. However the border threat remains and as the enemy sharpens skills, so too the army goes ahead of him to detect his next move. The Cameroonian army has been acquiring new skills in facing the terrorist, also acquiring more performant equipment.

There was therefore need to renew top management, which the Head of State, Chief of the armed forces has done in appointing the new Generals. New Heads of military regions have also taken up duty. They were commissioned to work throughout the week. Generals now command military and Gendarnerie regions , as well as motorised infantry batallions for better efficacy in protecting Sovereignty, and to respond promptly to threats of every nature at the borders.

The Cameroonian army has been highly solicited of late in the global fight afainst terrorism but has not faltered in keeping a keen eye on the country’s territory. The change in its leadership is expected to bring an even more satisfactory result, to confirm it is growing from strength to strength and remains invincible in its supreme missions.
