President Paul BIYA presides at the graduation ceremony of the 30th batch of the Combined armed services military Academy.

The Cameroonian Head of State, Commander in chief of the armed forces, President Paul BIYA on April 21, 2017, presided at the graduation ceremony of the 30th batch of the Combined armed services military Academy known by its French acronym, EMIA.

The graduation ceremony took place at the military headquarters brigade in Yaounde. Some 178 cadets of the batch christened ” Peace and emergence” received epaulets from the hands of the Head of State.

President Paul BIYA saluted the military’s brave battle against maritime piracy, hostage- taking and its sporadic attacks against the Boko haram terrorist group. He lauded the patriotic nature of the Fallen soldiers in this battle and exhorted the graduating cadets to follow in their footsteps and totally eradicate threats posed by Boko Haram to the nation. The soldiers are expected to work in synergy with vigilant groups whose Collaboration with the military has proven very effective in protecting the nation until now.

The graduating military cadets are as their name “peace and emergence “suggests, expected to work towards preserving sustainable peace that Cameroon counts on to attain its development aspirations.

The Head of state called on them to never lose sight of their prerogative to preserve peace, protect national integrity, national unity and Republican institutions, and to do so in strict discipline, staying loyal and available at all times.
