The active forces of the south west region that is members of the political bureau of the CPDM party, members of the central committee of the CPDM, members of the regional and divisional permanent delegations of the central committee of the CPDM, section presidents, members of the national bureau of the WCPDM and the YCPDM, members and former members of government, senators, members of the national assembly, mayors, traditional rulers, socio cultural leaders and youths on behalf of the people of the south west region extends their sincere congratulations to the head of state, President Paul Biya for his re-election.
Under the chairperson of his Excellency Peter Mafany Musonge, the grand chancellor of the national orders to evaluate the conduct of the 7 October presidential election, the active forces of the south west region before congratulating the head of state, they made an appraisal of the electoral process right up to the proclamation of the results on the 22nd of October 2018.
Some of the salient points they sited was the successful organization of the 2018 presidential election which was the fulfillment of President Paul Biya’s political vision and agenda in his commitment toward democracy and the respect of the rules of law. Considering this important aspect, the election was free, faire and transparent as testified by the reports of national and international observers and the patriotic acceptance of the outcome of the polls by major opposition candidates in the election.
While congratulating the head for his landslide victory, the active forces f the south west region threw back to the swearing-in into office of the president of the republic of Cameroon on the 6th of November 2018 for a new seven year mandate symbolizing Paul Biya’s irrevocable commitment to performing duties as the head of state in fostering economic growth that creates jobs, particularly for youths so as to facilitate integration through development of our educational system focused on professionalism.
In respect to the ongoing crisis in the North West and south west region, the motion of support by the active forces congratulated the concern showed by the head of state in his declaration during the swearing-in ceremony where he noted that he has reflected on the frustrations and aspirations of the vast majority of Cameroonians most especially in the predominantly English speaking regions like wise his desire to fast track the acceleration of the decentralization process in a bid to address the issues raised.
It is in this backdrop that the head of state, President Paul Biya calls on youths like a father who got involved in the futile adventure of jeopardizing the peace, stability and national unity of Cameroon to lay down their arms and get back to the right track.
