North-West Region. Fruitful Joint Military Operation
The populations of the North West Region have been saluted for applying the concept of popular defense by collaborating with the defense and security forces to put an end to terrorist attack plaguing the North West Region.

The Commander of the 5th Joint Military Region, Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong, the Commander of the 5th Gendarmerie Region, Brigadier General Jules Caesar Esoh and the commander of the North-West Gendarmerie Legion, Colonel Nkoa Mala Valere, following an offensive mission in the neighborhood of Bali, Mezam Division and Abuh, Boyo Division, some unidentified gun men were neutralized and their weapons recovered.
It was under the heels of this laudable operation that, military authorities on November 22, 2018 presented the weapons of the unidentified gunmen to the Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique. Among the lot presented to the Governor were knives, bow and arrow, machetes, locally fabricated riffles, solar plates mobile phone sets, three motorcycle, sim cards, the list is in exhaustive.
Sources reveals that, this joint offensive operation carried out by the defense and security forces commanded by Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong, took place in the early hours of Thursday November 21 and 22, 2018, triggered by numerous kidnap cases reported, killings, destruction of bridges and public edifices as well as arson of public and private structures following the present socio-political crisis plaguing the North West and South West regions.
Speaking in the presence of Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique, the commander of the 5th Joint Military Region said if this special operation happens to be a success is thanks to the unflinching collaboration from the population. The populations are conscious of the fact that the enemy is within which is causing havoc and more still claiming the lives of persons; a clear indication of the fact that, the so call fight is tilted towards self-interest and banditry.
Apart from the lot of weapons recovered, the defense and security forces in the course of the operation neutralized, a good number of assailants at least a sigh of relief on the part of the population as well as their property. Thus, it is in this respect that the Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique lauded the effort put in by the defense and security forces and on the other hand urges the population to put hand on deck by collaborating with the authorities so that the ungodly atrocities of these enemies of the state can be halted.
Added to this, the Governor of the North West Region reiterated that the Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Paul Biya during his inaugural speech showed compassion to the population of the North West and South West Region in respect to the prevailing crisis not leaving out the fact the he called on these manipulated youths to drop their arms.
